What is the Billion Dollar Challenge?

Dr. DeForest B. Soaries, Jr., challenged his congregation to pay off $1 million dollars of their personal debt. This initial challenge has now been expanded to include the entire country. The Challenge is to take control of your finances by creating debt reduction goals, forming online support groups, and most importantly – paying off your debt.

About Dr. Soaries and dfree®

In 2005, Dr. Soaries began a program called dfree® at the First Baptist Church of Lincoln Gardens in Somerset, NJ designed to help church members eliminate their debt, pay their bills on time and live within their means.

In 2010, the dfree® strategy was featured on a two hour CNN documentary “Almighty Debt”, and in 2011,dfree® was described in the book “dfree®: Breaking Free from Financial Slavery.” In 2012, Dr. Soaries announced the expansion of dfree® with the Billion Dollar Challenge - a national campaign for financial freedom.
